SOAK was an exhibition on the alternative visualisation of Mumbai’s terrain by Anuradha Mathur and Dilip DaCuhna at the National Gallery of Modern Art (NGMA), Mumbai, Delhi and Bangalore. It focused on talking about making peace with the sea; about designing with the monsoon in an estuary.
Building a strong connect between the message and it’s relevance to the audiences, an installation 'Collective Memory' was proposed. The installation gathered photographs, videos and text narratives of the Mumbai floods of 2005 from contributors through flickr, youtube, facebook and gmail. The material gathered was used as part of an installation that represented a shared concern for the future of Mumbai.
